The Vz58 has been a national symbol to Czech (technically Czechoslovakian back then) soldiers much like the classic M16 is to the American GI... and the love for the Vz58 is grounded in the weapon's effectiveness. As a Warsaw pact era main arm, the Vz58 was a highly dependable 7.62x39 rifle that was lighter and more accurate than the AK47 - AKM type rifle.
