Live Fire: Bren Mk1 Light Machine Gun
Britain

In this episode Matt put some rounds through a British Bren Mk1 (Modified). Introduced in 1938, just in time for the outbreak of the Second World War. Britain entered the war with over 30,000 Brens but most of these were lost during the evacuation from Dunkirk in May 1940. Production needed to be sped up and the Mk1(M) was the first attempt to simplify production. The Bren remained in British service into the 1990s. In this video Matt briefly discusses some of the Bren's history and we'll have more in-depth episodes on the Bren, its predecessors and its variants in the future!
