That is a very interesting concept for firing a percussion gun. Besides the traditional percussion caps, the military percussion Sharps rifles and carbines could be fired with percussion pellet fed by a clever little device integrated into the lock plate of the rifle. The breech loading carbine was already faster to reload than any muzzle loader. This pellet priming system further improved the firing rate. If it worked...
