War were declared with Prussia, a heavy defeat at Sedan, Metz falls and the national arsenal is serverely depleated. Such is the dire situation for the governement of the national defence proping up France at the beginning of the 1870/71 war. General mobilisation is in force but with what can they arm the troops? In desperation France reaches out to (amongst others) Remington to acquire large amounts of rifles in short order. This vid is (very) brief overview of the patterns of RRBs imported by France during the conflict with a mad minute thrown in for free!
