In 1939/1940 the French and British considered bombing the Soviet Union. Something that sounds quite "crazy" from our perspective nowadays, so why did they consider it? Military History Visualized provides a series of short narrative and visual presentations like documentaries based on academic literature or sometimes primary sources. Videos are intended as introduction to military history, but also contain a lot of details for history buffs. Since the aim is to keep the episodes short and comprehensive some details are often cut. » HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT MILITARY HISTORY VISUALIZED « (A) You can support my channel on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/join/mhv (B) You can support me via Paypal donations: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=TFHEY4P4YU3NY (C) You can also buy "Spoils of War" (merchandise) in the online shop: https://www.redbubble.com/people/mhvis/shop » SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS « facebook: https://www.facebook.com/milhistoryvisualized/ twitter: https://twitter.com/MilHiVisualized tumblr: http://militaryhistoryvisualized.tumblr.com/ » SOURCES « Alexander, Martin S.: French grand strategy and defence preparations; in: Cambridge History of the Second World War, Volume 1 Imlay, Talbot: Western Allied ideology, 1939-1945; in: Cambridge History of the Second World War, Volume 2 Tooze, Adam; Martin, Jamie: The economics of the war with Nazi Germany; in: Cambridge History of the Second World War, Volume 3 Edgerton, David: Coal, iron ore and oil in the Second World War; in: Cambridge History of the Second World War, Volume 3 Germany and the Second World War – Volume II German version used for this video: Das Deutsche Reich und der Zweite Weltkrieg – Band 2: Tillmann, Barrett: Whirlwind – The Air War Against Japan 1942-1945 Bomben auf Baku (Spiegel 1973) http://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/print/d-41926301.html Die Geheimakten des französischen Generalstabes » TOOL CHAIN « PowerPoint 2016, Word, Excel, Tile Mill, QGIS, Processing 3, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate. » CREDITS & SPECIAL THX « Song: Ethan Meixsell - Demilitarized Zone
