Lightweight, nimble and fired the new 5.56 caliber cartridge in the 1960's. Nowadays, there are many competitors who use the derivations of the XM16E1 as a competition rifle, but exactly how was this firearm when compared to the M14 on the distance course? We clock this Brownells reproduction of the old Colt XM16E1 to find out. The XM16E1 was designed as a 300m weapon with limited adjustments on the standard L-sights. We discovered later that the L-sights indeed to not provide any elevation adjustment. ***This video was re-labeled, due to a mis-categorization of the rifle nomenclature*** we will re-film with an M16A1 shortly Thanks to Chris for loaning us the rifle!
