The Yugo M70AB2 (and the M70 family) can be said to be a symbol of the Balkan conflicts in the 90's and onwards. While the M70 family was an unlicensed copy of the Soviet Type 2/3 AK, it can be considered a "product improvement" of the legendary rifle in 7.62x39.
Later Zastava would even set-up licensed manufacturing in places like Iraq for the Tabuk rifle and introduce the popular NPAP/ M70 family of rifles to the U.S. civilian market... but this is where it all started.
